Clínica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar was founded on 1893 by St Annes's Sisters of Charity to provide medical assistance to the sailors and the foreigners while waiting to embark at the busy harbour of Barcelona, and also to the poor people of the city.
The clinic, owned and managed by St Anne Sisters of Charity has expanded its facilities over the years, building its new image on 1986 and increasing thoughtout the years its capacity in modern technology and facilities:
- Rooms available: 158 single rooms with TV, bathroom and air conditioned.
- ICU: 8 box with vital support and monitoring.
- Neonatal ICU.
- Operating theatre: 6 general operating rooms plus 3 obstetrics, 1 ambulatory OR, and 2 delivery rooms.
- Medical Emergency Unit: 8 box with X ray.
- Laboratory (Managed by Sabater Tobella SA).
- Medical imaging (CT, NMR, ultrasound and digital XR facilities) managed by Cetir Grup Mèdic.

The facilities cover the following areas and specilities:
- Medical, surgical and ortopaedics emergency unit.
- ICU - Coronary Care Unit.
- Medical imaging department: X Ray, ultrasoud imaging, CT scanner, MRI.
- Laboratory: biochemistry, haematology, inmunology and drugs.
- Obstaetrics ang Gynecology.
- Internal medicine (chest medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, haematology, oncology) and preventive medicine.
- Surgery: oftalmology, neurosurgery, digestive and general surgery, ENT surgery, urology, minimal invasive surgery.
- Orthopaedics surgery and traumatology.
